Nuremberg, Germany – April 4, 2024 — Avnet (Nasdaq: AVT) launches a new SMARC module family based on NXP’s new i.MX 95 Applications Processor. The MSC SM2S-IMX95 SMARC module family is based on the new SMARC 2.1.1 standard allowing easy integration with SMARC baseboards.
The i.MX 95 family from NXP combines multi-core high performance compute and immersive 3D graphics. It is also the first i.MX Applications Processor family to integrate NXP’s elQ* Neutron neural processing unit (NPU) and a new image signal processor (ISP) developed by NXP, helping developers to build powerful, next generation edge platforms.
“The new SMARC module family is ideal for applications that require a small form factor compute platform with high performance, graphics, video and AI capabilities and rich I/O feature set,” said Thomas Staudinger, president, Avnet Embedded. “These applications include industrial, medical platforms, smart home and building (with vision and high-speed networking), industrial transport and grid infrastructure.”
This module will be exhibited in the Avnet Embedded booth (Hall 1–510) at Embedded World (April 9-11 in Nuremberg, Germany), alongside a range of new development boards engineered by Avnet Embedded, focused on edge-AI applications.
