Our partners at Tianma have just released a thinner, smaller, lower cost QVGA display, ideal for the industrial market, HVAC systems or anywhere that requires a smaller HMI.
This new entry-class model belongs to the P-series and offers standard luminance of 350 cd/m2 and a typical backlight lifetime of 30kh. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, with a storage temperature of -30°C to +80°C. However, the size is the key feature on this display. At just 3.5”, it fits into compact spaces, but the wide viewing angle means clarity isn’t compromised. QVGA also brings clear, sharp image quality that is ideal for industrial applications.
The display is without touch but, PCAP, custom printed cover glass and different types of bonding (air gap, optical) can be provided as a customized solution.
In collaboration with SIS, we have integrated a mesh PCAP behind the plastic cover of a white board and developed a special controller that can drive this plastic mesh stack.
The biggest challenge was connecting the touch to the PC. Because there can be no defined distance between the White Board and the PC, it is difficult use a USB cable.
For this reason, together we developed a wireless solution to the touch controller that works over 2.4Ghz RF. In this way the whiteboard and PC can communicate over a distance of several meters – and even through walls!
And, of course, it’s a solution that’s certainly not limited to interactive whiteboards – we are able to implement this Radio Frequency Controller in every touch-based application. If you’re looking for a wireless touch solution or just some display innovation, contact our team today.
Where displays are concerned, plenty of acronyms fly around. MIPI is one, LVDS and RGB/TTL are some others. You’d expect all three to be completely different, but life is never that precise, is it? For example, MIPI displays also use LVDS standards and as puzzling as that might sound, there are actually some fairly sound reasons for it.

The RASynBoard kit is a low-cost evaluation kit that includes the RASynBoard core module with an I/O board for prototyping and development.
RASynBoard is a tiny (25mm x 30mm), ultra-low power, edge AI/ML board, based on a Syntiant NDP120 Neural Decision Processor, a Renesas RA6M4 host MCU plus a power-efficient DA16600 Wi-Fi/BT combo module.
The NDP120 subsystem with onboard digital microphone, IMU motion sensor and SPI Flash memory, achieves highly efficient processing of acoustic – and motion events. Battery and USB-C device connectors facilitate stand-alone use, while a compact under-board connector enables integration with custom OEM boards and additional sensors.
